Simplify Your Thoughts - May 12-13

Using your photos to simplify what you want to paint

Simplify Your Thoughts - May 12-13

Date: May 12-13, 2012 10am-4pm

This is a full on, all-inclusive stay-n-play workshop held at the prestigious town of Invermere.

Everything is included, even a wine & cheese reception at Artym Gallery on Saturday evening. Connie Artym has graciously opened her doors after hours so we may have an examination of different painting styles and working techniques of many of Canada's top artists.

Having trouble deciding which of the hundreds of photos in your pile make good photos to paint from? I will show you how to choose a photo and how simplify your ideas so that it's an easy paint. From choosing the best photos to simple design techniques used on lesser photos. Learn some new composition tricks and simple colour ideas that will help you stimulate the viewer. Using some basic Photoshop techniques we will also be learning some even easier "poor man's Photoshop tricks" to render your photos to the paintable state. Come one, Come all! And bring your bad photos.

You will learn to SIMPLIFY • SIMPLIFY • SIMPLIFYsimple_painting_bad_photo

This is an indoor class using photos. We will be painting minimum of 2 paintings a day.

Fee: $190
